Pergola, pavilion or covered patio
A pergola is open above. It breaks the sun, carries planting and defines a space without closing it in. It does not keep rain off.
A pavilion is roofed and usually freestanding. It gives you a destination in the yard rather than an extension of the house.
A covered patio attaches to the house and reads as part of it. If the goal is to use the space in March and October, this is usually the answer.
Cedar, and why it is worth it
Cedar is naturally rot and insect resistant, it takes weather without chemical treatment, and it silvers gracefully if you let it. Sealed, it holds its colour.
Slatted screens do more work than people expect: privacy from a neighbour, a wind break, and a wall for a television or a fireplace without building a wall.
Built to the ground, not onto it
A structure is only as good as its footings. Posts set properly, flashed where they meet the house, and tied into the hardscape rather than sitting on top of it.

How long does cedar last outside in Arkansas?
A long time, and longer if it is detailed to shed water and kept off the ground. Whether you seal it is a look decision more than a longevity one.
Can you mount a TV and a fireplace in one?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests. It needs planning before the structure goes up, not after.
